Varnish

In the perspective of a guitar builder, and continuing a centuries-old tradition, french polishing is the best finish for an acoustic instrument, providing a better sound response and a look that other thicker finishes cannot give.
French polish is moreover a delicate finish concerning its strength and durability. At the same time, it is much easier to repair and does not release harmful vapors into the environment. Along with shellac, I use other resins such as Sandarac, Mastic, E¬lemi, Benzoin, natural additives that increase the hardness, flexibility, gloss, and smell of the finish.
